SURFACE PREPARATION AND APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Bare Steel Bottoms. Apply 1 coat of EPOFOND AM-9 on sandblasted steel according to SA 2,5/3 and let dry for 12-24 hours. Apply then 2 coats of EPOFOND AM-9 allowing max.24 hours between coats (minimun 6-8 hours). Overcoat then with 2 coats of STANDARD PLUS antifouling allowing min.18-24 hours between coats.
Bare Wood. Apply one coat largely diluted of EVIOX CROMOMINIO and allow to dry for 8-12 hours. Apply 2 coats of SOLVER PRIMER allowing 24 hours between coats followed by 2 coats of STANDARD PLUS antifouling allowing min. 18-24 hours between coats.
New Fibreglass. Degrease with suitable cleaner and water and rinse the surface to be coated. Sand with fine abrasive paper and remove dust. Apply 1 coat of EPOFOND AM-9 or POLIFIBER PRIMER and after 24 hours sand with fine abrasive paper. Apply then 2 coats of STANDARD PLUS antifouling allowing min.18-24 hours between coats.
Previously Coated Surfaces. If the old antifouling is still in sound conditions, compatible, and well sticked on the substrate, it is enough to apply 1-2 coats of SOLVER PRIMER followed by 2 coats of STANDARD PLUS antifouling allowing the required waiting time between coats. (If the old antifouling is in poor condition of adhesion or not compatible, remove the old paint down to bare surface and follow the directions as per bare surface). www.aemmecolori.it
Recommendations. After the application of the last coat the maximum launching period of the antifouling is 1 month; with top quality copper based antifouling and after agreement with our technical staff, the launching time may extend up to 3 months, providing that the hull is protected from moisture, rain or atmospheric agents with plastic cover or similar material.
Colour. The color of the antifouling paint after immersion in water may result slightly different since small color differences can occur between different production lots: if necessary, mix them before application.
Remarks. The values specified in the present technical data sheet may vary slightly from one batch to another. The antifouling paint must not come in contact with water, chemicals or subjected to mechanical stress before the curing is complete. The wet film thickness refers to the undiluted product. In case of dilution, this value increases. The above information is the result of accurate laboratory tests and practical experience, however, since the product is predominantly used outside the manufacturer's control, we can only guarantee the continuous quality of the product.
