POLISTUK is widely used thanks to its easy application characteristics and general purpose use which allow applications both for high thickess and for light surface levelling. Provides good adhesion and good sandpapering characterictics. It can be applied to level surface uneveness on steel, cast iron, aluminium, cement and fibreglass panels. By adjusting the percentage of the hardener, POLISTUK can be applied in different weather conditions. The reduced specific gravity of the product and waterproof characteristics makes of this product a suitable choice for application on boats. Its high filling power and goods sanding features allow the use of this product in the automotive field. It may also be applied on sheet iron provided that a suitable primer is being applied first. It is compatible with water based coating systems.

SURFACE PREPARATION AND APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Fibreglass. The substrate should be perfectly cleaned, degreased with suitable detergent, rinsed and slightly sanded with fine abrasive paper and then dusted off. Apply one coat of suitable primer. Apply a layer of POLISTUK filler by adding the catalyst to the product in the recommended ratio, according to prevailing temperature and requested pot life (see Mixing Ratio above). The product should be evenly mixed and then applied onto the substrate taking care to make a little pressure with the spatula in order to ensure adequate adhesion to the surface. The filler can be sanded 30-45 min. after hardening. Overcoat with the desired coating system.

Steel. The surface should be perfectly cleaned, dry, degreased and free from corrosion. Sandpapering is recommended to roughen the surface. Dust off and apply one coat of suitable primer. The filler can be sanded 30-45 minutes after hardening. Overcoat with the desired coating system.

Aluminium. The surface should be perfectly cleaned, dry, and wirebrushed, Apply one coat of suitable primer (do not apply phenol based products). The filler can be sanded 30-45 minutes after hardening. Overcoat with the desired coating system.

NOTE: Do not exceed the suggested quantity of hardener, stir well into the filler to make an even product as otherwise some bleeding (stains) could be experienced when overcoating with the desired finish; particularly in case of metalized topcoat. Do not apply onto sheet iron if the surface is cold as this could impair adhesion and drying properties. Do not apply the filler over wash-primers or onto thermo-curing primers.
